Ana Margarida de Oliveira

MV, MSc, Dip. ECVD, PhD

Dr Oliveira is a Diplomate by the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD) and an European Specialist by EBVS after completing a residency in dermatology at the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies University of Edinburgh. She holds a PhD in Veterinary Sciences by Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro.
Dr Oliveira was Clinical Assistant Professor in Dermatology at the College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University. Currently, lives in Portugal and teaches at Faculdade Medicina Veterinária da Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon. She is author of several scientific papers and is frequently invited has a speaker at national and international conferences. Her main research interest is canine pyoderma and resistant infections.

Elisa Maina

DVM, PhD, Dip. ECVD, Specialist in Small Animal Medicine (Unimi) 

Dr. Maina is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology and also holds a PhD for research in immunology and a degree of specialist in Small Animal Medicine. She graduated from Milan’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 and went on to study dermatology with the European School of Advanced Veterinary Studies before completing a dermatology externship at the University of Florida, a residency in dermatology and a school of school of Specialization in Small Animal Medicin in Italy.  She completed a Research Doctorate about the pathogenesis and treatment of food allergy in dogs in Belgium. She currently works in a Swiss referral clinic, but also finds time to author papers for various international dermatology journals, and serves as a ECVD Credential Committee Chair and member of the SOC of the ECVD ESVD congresses. 

Prof. Ralf S. Mueller

MANZCVSc (Canine Medicine), Dip. ACVD, FANZCVSDc (Dermatology), Dip. ECVD

After graduating in 1986 Dr. Mueller spent time in both large and small animal practices before undertaking a residency at the University of California, Davis. He then acted as director of the Animal Skin & Allergy Clinic in Melbourne, Australia until 1999, subsequently became assistant professor at Colorado State University and 2004 Professor and chief of veterinary dermatology at the University of Munich. His research is focused on allergies, he has published over 250 peer-reviewed articles and given over 1200 lectures and seminars all over the world.

Jennifer Schissler


Dr. Schissler graduated from the CSU professional veterinary program in 2005 and went on to complete a combined master’s degree and dermatology residency at The Ohio State University in 2009. A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology since 2009, she was a faculty dermatologist at Colorado State University from 2011-2021 with a clinical, teaching and research appointment. She now practices dermatology in Billings, Montana. Her interests include otology, infection control, and multidrug resistant staphylococci.
